29 January 2010 - CLOSED Saturday January 30
Due to the extreme cold and windchill, Mike has decided to cancel training today. It is currently, at 8:11 a.m., -19°C with a windchill of -27°C. It is too cold to work outside.
Although your dog may have a fur coat on, they feel the cold temperatures just like you do and can get frostbite. Be especially mindful of puppies who do not realize how cold it is. Keep them close to you and keep their time outdoors to a minimum (only 10 minutes at a time).
Do not leave your dogs in the car as you go in to shop. The temperature inside the car drops quickly and your dog will suffer the affects of hypothermia.
Forego the walks and the visits to the dog parks until this cold snap breaks. Have your playtime indoors. When your canine goes outside, put coats on the short-haired dogs and use some 100% Natural Invisible Boot on their paws. This will protect them from salt and prevent snowballs from forming in between their toes. It can be purchased at Global Pet Foods in Brampton at the Worthington and Bovaird store or at the Highway 10 and Wanless store in the Basics plaza.
Keep warm.
