Heidi is a beautiful blonde Shih tzu who will be three years old in July of 2008. She is spayed and is up to date with her shots. She is a very smart dog who just loves to go for walks. Heidi comes from a loving home but sadly to say, her family is very busy and does not have much time to spend with her. They feel terrible knowing that she is on her own for the most part of the day and are hoping to find her a family who can give her the love and attention she deserves.
She was adopted out for just a short period of time and was returned to her original owner. Heidi was playing with their five year old grandson who was hugging her for sometime and Heidi had decided that she’d had enough, growled, and then bit the boy. It was not a serious bite but, the gentleman said he didn’t want to risk having a dog that bites, especially young children. A few days later she growled at him as well, why he never did say. The new owner told her that was enough and proceeded to pet her and Heide bit again – not a serious bite. This behaviour was not apparent with her original owner as Heidi had never bitten anyone in their family before but has sometimes shown signs of aggression with toys etc. The newly adoptive family were going to give her up to the SPCA and gave the previous family the option to taking her back and so they did.
This time trying to find another loving home for Heidi wasn’t as easy. They questioned shelters and rescue centers in regards to them helping to find her a new home and it was suggested to have her put down as they do not take dogs that have any history of biting. Her original owner was devastated with the idea, for the most part Heidi is a very happy, playful puppy and is a lovable little girl.
Perhaps if you consider taking Heidi in for adoption, Mike (the Wolfman) can help straighten out her signs of aggression with her newly adoptive family.
Should you be interested in adopting Heidi please give me a call. I live in Brampton and my name is Kim, my cell number is 647 287-5022. I would like to thank Mike for allowing me to tell Heidi’s story and hopefully we could find a nice loving family for our little girl.
Many thanks,
Kim
Tazz’ current family need to find a new home for him. His current Mommy describes him below:
Tazz is a playful healthy and fun loving 5 ½ yr old Jack Russell Terior. He loves to play catch so much so he looses all concept of time. He needs breaks in between or he becomes aggressive.
He sleeps in his crate and lets you know when he want to go in by
scratching at it. He is left free during the day and there has never been a problem with that.
He loves grabbing shoes and socks, he will give them up if played with or when they are traded for a treat. This is an attention seeking strategy of his. If we approach him to retrieve any thing he has picked up he may become aggressive.
If at anytime he allows you to pick him up, which does not happen often, if another person approaches him he will become aggressive towards the other person who may try to touch or pet him.
When we leave the house we place a treat on the carpet by the door, we ask him to wait, once the door is opened and we step out we then tell him he can get the treat. In doing this it has helped in reducing his anxiety and it is a positive experience when leaving . He becomes nervous when and if someone leaves the house this helps cut down on any anxiety for him.
He loves being outside in the backyard, he will do well if he has lots of room to run and play.
He will approach you when he wants to be petted. We do not approach or surprise him. He does not do well with surprises. He is a wonderful companion for someone who leads a very quiet life style, but remember he has show aggressive behaviour in the past.
When Tazz was showing aggressive behaviour we brought him to Mike, his training went well. When he slips back into his old habits I call Mike and he always helps us out. He has been a life saver, in more ways that one.
Tazz has been a big part of our family, and he will be greatly missed. The 5 ½ years we have had together have been special. It saddens us that we have to let him go.
If you feel that you can give Tazz a good home, please contact Mike at 905-877-4187 or 647-519-5959 to enquire.
